Routine Care
Dekton surfaces require minimal maintenance. To keep them looking beautiful and glossy for years, regularly wipe the surface using a non-abrasive sponge with soap and warm water. You can also use any pH-balanced general-purpose cleaner.
Precautions
When using glass cooktop cleaner, wipe the surface clean with plenty of water and fresh cloths. A squeegee can help streamline the cleaning process. Always handle and store cleaning products with care, and follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for their use and storage.
Dekton is stain-resistant against many household cleaners, but it's best not to leave these products on the surface for extended periods. Avoid contact with strong chemicals and solvents, especially hydrofluoric acid.
While Dekton is highly scratch-resistant, we recommend using a cutting board. Direct cutting can cause grey marks, known as "metal transfer," which are easily removed but can be avoided. Additionally, cutting on the surface may dull your knives, so it's a good idea to protect them by using a cutting board.
Spills
For tough spills, clean the surface with dish soap and scrub with a Scotch-Brite pad, then rinse with warm water. For dried-on substances like food, gum, nail polish, or paint, carefully scrape them off using a blade or putty knife, followed by washing with soap and water. Any grey marks left by the blade can be easily removed with soap, water, or a glass cooktop cleaner.
Wine
Dab Q-Action onto the stain and leave it for two minutes. Use a scourer sponge to gently rub the area, rinse with a damp cloth, and pat dry with a paper towel.
Wax
To remove substances like wax, shoe polish, rubber marks, dyes, markers, inks, and adhesives, you can use solvents such as lacquer thinner, acetone, rubbing alcohol, or mineral spirits.
Rust & Limescale
For rust removal, use acidic-based cleaners like vinegar and water or commercial acidic cleaners like CLR.
Smears
For smears, apply glass cooktop cleaner and wipe clean with plenty of water and fresh rags. A squeegee can also help. As always, handle cleaning products with care and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for use and storage.
